Day 01 – Arrival to Madrid
Arrival into Madrid and transfer to your centrally-located hotel for a check-in. Rest of the day at leisure.
Day 02 – Madrid
In the morning, you will meet with your tour guide for a nice private walking tour of Madrid. On this tour you will see the most emblematic and lovely places of the Spanish capital, and you will get a general idea of Madrid, discover its traditions and main monuments, like the Royal Palace or the Cathedral, but also the hidden corners and the mysteries of its old town. Focus on the Hapsburg district of Madrid, which is the oldest part of the city. You will capture the city’s energy, enjoy the taste of Madrid, and if you get tired, you can make a little stop to taste some local drink.
Rest of the day at leisure.
Day 03 – Madrid - Toledo
Half day guided tour to Toledo, including entrance to the Cathedral, Synagogue and El Greco’s house. Rest of the day free.
Day 04 – Madrid - Segovia
Full-day guided tour to Segovia, including visits to the Roman Aqueduct, the Cathedral in the Plaza Mayor, and the Alcazar (including entrance), fortress and home to various Spanish monarchs. Time for lunch followed by a guided tour to El Escorial, declared a Historic-Artistic Monument in 1931, and in 1984 recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
Day 05 – Madrid - Cordoba - Seville (3 nights)
Pick up your rental car and drive from Madrid in the morning to Córdoba, stopping along the way in Consuegra to view the windmills overlooking La Mancha. Upon arrival in Cordoba, time for a quick lunch, followed by a visit to the Roman ruins and entrance to the beautiful Mezquita Cathedral. Continue to Seville for a 3 night stay.
Day 06 – Seville
Half-day guided city tour, including entrance to the Cathedral and Giralda. Rest of the day at leisure.
Day 07 – Seville
After breakfast, guided tour of the Alcazar. The rest of the day is free until evening for dinner and flamenco show (tablao).
Day 08 – Seville - Jerez - Algeciras
Departure of Seville, stopping in Jerez to attend a show at the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art, followed by lunch and visit to a bodega for a tour and sherry tasting. Overnight stay at Algeciras.
Day 09 – Algeciras - Gibraltar - Malaga
Departing from Algeciras to Gibraltar. On arrival, we suggest to visit the Europe Point, The Pillars of Hercules, St. Michaels Caves, Top of the Rock (stop at upper Apes Den), Great Siege Tunnels and the Moorish Castle. From there, continue to Malaga.
Day 10 – Málaga
Free day in Málaga on the Costa del Sol.
Day 11 – Málaga - Nerja - Granada
Late morning departure from Málaga to Granada, stopping in Nerja for lunch at a seaside café.
Day 12 – Granada
This day we suggest the visit of El Albaicin, the old Moorish quarter of the city; the famous Alhambra, and Generalife Gardens.
Day 13 – Granada - Alicante
Depart Granada this morning to Alicante. In the evening, time to be along the Esplanade and stop for a dinner at one of the numerous restaurants.
Day 14 – Alicante - Valencia
Before departing for Valencia, a visit to the largest medieval fortresses in Europe, Santa Barbara Castle, at the top of Benacantil Mountain.
Day 15 – Valencia
A visit to the main sights as the City of Arts & Sciences, and La Lonja de la Seda.
Day 16 – Valencia - Barcelona
After breakfast, continue from Valencia to Barcelona. Return the rental car.
Day 17 – Barcelona
Guided city art and architecture tour, including the Sagrada Familia, the Cathedral and the Fundación Juan Miró. Afterwards, tapas lunch.
Day 18 – Girona - Figueres - Barcelona
Guided excursion to Figueres, the home town of Salvador Dalí. On route, stop in the historic city of Girona for guided walking tour of the old city and Jewish Quarter. There will also be time for independent lunch before continuing to Figueres for a guided tour of the Dali Theatre-Museum.
Day 19 – Barcelona
Free day.
Day 12 – Departure
Transfer to the airport for your flight back home.
