The multi-adventure Camino
Day 01 – Vigo
Arrival and transfer to your hotel in Vigo. Welcome “tapas tour” for dinner.
Day 02 – Cangas - National Park Cabo Home - Aldán - Marín - Pontevedra (55Km)
The first two days you will be cycling along the amazing Atlantic coastline, following one of the most beautiful routes in Galicia. Cycling total 95KM, crossing the bay of Vigo by ferry, you will enter Cangas, a small fisherman´s village and pick up your bikes. You will run along the coast through some beautiful beaches until you reach the Natural park of Cabo Home, then the Port of Aldán, where you will stop for lunch to try some typical Galician seafood. You will continue your ride passing by a small village Bueu, until you reach Pontevedra to overnight. Tapas in the old town of Pontevedra for dinner.
Day 03 – Pontevedra - Combarro - Monasterio Santa María de Armenteira - San Vicente de O Grove (40 km)
You will start your day in Pontevedra and cycle towards an original coast village, Combarro, known for its many “horreos”, small stone buildings used for decades in Galicia for drying corn. Then a stop for lunch at a nice local restaurant. Later on, you will climb up towards the 12th century Monastery of Santa Maria de Armenteira – take your time and get a sense of peace and calm of the Monastery. After this break, you will continue to the base camp for your kayak route on El Camino de Santiago. Night at a camping tent.
Day 04 – Sea Museum - (O Grove) - Punta Carreiron (Illa de Arousa)
The four following days kayak tour will take you to precious camp sites, where you literally will be living in the middle of the unspoiled Galician nature. Your first stop will be at Museo del Mar, introducing you into the original fishing traditions in Galica; then you will follow the coast to O Grove, and from here paddle to the Punta Carreiron, where you will find today´s camp site for the night. Camping tent.
Day 05 – Carreiron Natural Park - Illa de Arousa - Poboa do Caramiñal
Starting the day paddling along the island of Carreiron, passing other small idyllic islands, before getting to the Illa de Arousa. A little excursion on land before getting to your camp site for overnight outside the port of Poboa do Caramiñal. Camping tent.
Day 06 – Poboa do Caramiñal - SantaCruz - Rianxo
Paddling to the peninsula of Santa Cruz where you will find some wonderful beaches and if the tide is low, see local women looking for clams at the shore side. Continuing on through the calm waters of the bay you´ll get to the village of Rianxo, where you will find your camp site for the night. Camping tent.
Day 7 – Isla de Cortegada - Carril - (Ulla River) - Catoira - Padron
You will start paddling to isla de Cortegada and later on to Carril, where you will get off board to have a short walk. From here, you will head up to Ulla River, towards the Viking village of Catoira. Then you will move to Pontecesures, leaving your kayaks there. Overnight at a charming boutique rural house in Padrón. Dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 8 – Padron - Santiago de Compostela
Final day of your journey to Santiago. You will be walking the last 25 Km, leaving Padrón and passing through small villages until you reach Plaza del Obradoiro in Santiago for your Pilgrim´s credential, and to feel the history forming Santiago over the centuries. Overnight at a beautiful boutique hotel in the Old Quarter. Farewell dinner at a typical restaurant in the old town.
